Building Environmental Systems Operator - Part-Time
Physical Plant, Orillia Campus
(17.5 Hours/Week, On
Reporting to the Facility Manager, Orillia, the Building Environmental
Systems Operator will assist with the operational needs of the Orillia Campus
building facilities and systems.
Specifically, the incumbent will supervise the contracted services,
providing direction and supervision of service providers. Additional responsibilities include maintaining
energy conservation plans for the LEED campus, ensuring the campus is in
compliance with applicable regulations, monitoring the building automation
system, assisting with the supervision of renovation projects and taking
corrective action to protect University assets.
The successful candidate will also monitor fire and other life safety
systems including testing and inspections as well as perform shift tours
building systems and perform minor maintenance tasks as assigned.
The successful candidate a
post-secondary education coupled with a minimum of three years of related
experience. Additional qualifications include a Building
Environment System (BES) Certificate, Class 1, a trades licence or the
equivalent experience and computer proficiency.
Knowledge of preventative maintenance, building and fire codes, as well
as health and safety acts and related legislation and standards are a must.
