Lakehead University, Thunder Bay
Campus, invites applications for a tenure-track appointment in its Faculty of
Engineering commencing August 1, 2013. Rank of appointment is dependent on
qualifications, teaching, and research experience.
All research areas
related to construction engineering will be considered, but preference will be
given to candidates with a strong background and interest in both teaching and
research in one or more of the following areas: designing, planning,
construction, and management of large projects such as highways, bridges,
airports, railroads, dams, mines, oil platforms and high rise buildings.
Candidates that can contribute to the developing mining centre of
excellence are particularly encouraged.
The successful candidate
is expected to initiate a vigorous externally funded research program, be
dedicated to engineering education, assist in the development of laboratories
and graduate studies, and work effectively with colleagues. Applicants should
hold a B. Eng. in Civil or Construction Engineering and a Ph.D. in
Civil/Construction Engineering or a closely related field. The applicant must
be, or be qualified and prepared to become, a licensed Professional Engineer in
the Province of Ontario. Relevant industrial experience would be a definite
asset.
